Well its been 2 weeks. So much for me keeping a record of my dealings with this diet. The good news is that I am down 7 pounds and weigh in today to see if I've lost any more. The other news (not necassarily bad) is that this has been the hardest thing I've done in a while. Harder in fact than running a marathon...which I've done twice. Keeping to this diet has made me realise just how addicted to sugar and carbs I had become. Overcoming this addiction (and yes it was an addiction) has been very eye opening to say the least.I have been battling moodiness, headaches and habits. I have realised that there are so many rituals attatched to eating. It hasn't been the fact that I've been hungry..because I really haven't but more about how much I missed the ritual of preparing certain comfort foods, the excitement of the drive thru, the smell of a tosted bagel about to be slathered in jam and consumed. My mother in law has a bucket sized container of peanut m&ms in the cupboard which I habitually take from at least half a dozen times within the first 15 minutes of being there. My nightly bowl of comfort in the form of ice cream and magic shell has been absent and I missed it greatly .....at first.
I'm glad to say that I am slowley 'coming down ' and growing out of these habits and eating rituals. This diet is hard because there is a sense of panic or that something is missing and you feel it every day. BUt I have stuck with it and I feel good. My clothes fit better already. I have more energy and desire to do more around the house. But more than any of these I am learning for the first time in my life that I had addictions...bad ones...but I am getting educated on how to overcome them and set a new eating trend that will improve my life.

Day 1
I feel......o.k. actually despite my body wondering where its breakfast sandwich and side of bacon was this morning. Had a light work out and followed the diet all day. All in all Ive enjoyed 3 shakes with berries and some good protein in the form of chicken breast and salmon. Was in the mood for something sweet this evening so I enjoyed a chocolate peanut butter protein bar.
Its only day 1 and my body already feels like its being cleaned out.
Haven't done the best job of tracking calories but have definately not veered from the food I'm supposed to eat at this early stage.
Looking foreward to tomorrow.

Here we go!
I'm Craig. I'm 40 pounds overweight. I like food, I work with food but I have to to change some habits before I really become a bloater!
As part of my new position at work I'm responsible for creating and producing food items that fit a strict diet criteria. This diet coupled with a strenuous work out plan is known as the 20/20 lifestyles programme. I have been put on this diet and have been left alone to work out as time and desire permits.
My goal is to lose 25 pounds in 8 weeks and to gain a greater understanding of what the food side of the programme can really do to a persons body and to their mind so that I can help other clients prepare, endure and eventually embrace the diet.
Wish me luck!
